Last week I met with Yahoo!'s engaging CMO Cammie Dunaway for a book we are publishing in 2007 to expand on our Growth Champion study. Coincidentally, Ms. Dunaway is also speaking on Day 2 of our upcoming Annual Conference. Despite the recent stock woes, I see a bright future for Yahoo! They have a lot of smart people working for them in an innovative environment with a rich understanding of consumer insights.
A few tidbits I thought I would share with the blogosphere. Yahoo! sees big things in the word-of- mouth marketing arena. They have also bundled up the "not so distant" future of communications into four distinct pillars. They helped me personally crystalize the new world we live in: 1) Search 2) Personalization 3) Community and 4) Content.
